THEATRE!

I was going to keep this part of the resume all designed and professional...but that takes too much time.

So what have I done? Not nearlly as much as I would have liked to. Most of my experience is in music theater reviews, but I would like to get back to straight plays and more "legitimate" theater. (So are musicals illigetimate theater/ Or should we just call them bastard plays?) Here is a list of things I have done and roles I have played...in no particular order.

Alley Theater Houston, TX Puck in "A Midsummers Night Dream", Linus in "Peanuts", the Prince in "The Princess and the Pea", and a lot of other little roles associated with the now defunct Alley Theater's Merry Go Round Children's program.

(Okay, so maybe we are going chronologically.)

In Junior High and Highschool, I belonged to show choir kind of group called Encore. It was a great experience and gave me a lot of opportunities to work on singing and dancing.

I played Dr. Agnosco (sp?) in Klein Highschools production of "The Miracle Worker." Also at Klein Highschool, Chorus roles and bit parts in "Annie Get Your Gun" and "My Fair Lady". Unfortunate for my resume, I was unwilling to sell my soul the drama teacher for a chance at some meatier parts. (I'm not exaggerating, Theater had to be your life and I wanted to be on the swim team.)

Oh and let's not forget my award winning role (best supporting actor) as the Tin Man in the Klein Wards sardonically irreverent "Somewhere Over the Punch Bowl" Road Show.

Moving on to College. At Brigham Young University I played the Priest (I had three lines and two of them were in Latin) in "The Most Happy Fella." I also did a variety of productions small and large including TonTon Julian in "Once on this Island" (Only in Utah), Mr. Mistoflees in Cats, Godspell, Dominique in "The Baker's Wife", "The Engineer" in Ms. Saigon, Uncle ? (I forget) in the "Rink", Farm Boy in Gypsy, and Jamie Lockhart in "The Robber Bridegroom". So during my time at Brigham Young University I had the opportunity to portray a Priest, a large Black man, a magic cat, an adulterer, a pimp, a child molester, and a thief. Those were strange times. It wasn't until I left college that I started getting cast in roles I was appropriate for. Next: Being the Nerd.

During my last summer at BYU I played Baby John in West Side Story at Sundance Summer Theater.

After college I worked at Busch Gardens playing a nerd in the "Rocking the Boat" review.

Later after 2 years of Grad school, I joined Crystal Cruises and played the Nerd in 7 of their production shows. ie. Cornelius Hackett, Motel Cumzohl (sp?), Harvey Johnson, Court Jester, and Puck. (I had come full cicle.)

After watching countless unoriginal cabaret acts that were equally redundant and unimaginative. Don't people ever tire of "Bring Him Home" and "Music of the Night"? I used my abundent free time to write my own show: "Songs for the Dysfunctional". Which premiered in March of 2002 at Danny's Skylight Room NYC and was reprised at Judy's Chelsea in August of the same year. (Needless to say, you won't hear any Lloyd Webber or Boubil/Schonberg in my show.) Unless it's a spoof of course.

That pretty much brings us to the present. At the begining of 2002 I did a short engagement for Broadhollow Theater Company playing Man 2 in Closer Than Ever. (I almost made enough to pay my rent that month.) And now I am Razzle Dazzling them in Fosse 8 times a week with the NETworks National Tour.
